We are FIRST Robotics Teams 3134 Accelerators and 3275 Regulators, from Cass Lake-Bena High School located in the rural town of Cass Lake, Minnesota on the Leech Lake Indian reservation.
"Most of the time you will fail, but you will also occasionally succeed. Those occasional successes make all the hard work and sacrifice worthwhile."
-Dean Kamen, founder of FIRST Robotics-
"Competition for the sake not of destroying one another, but for the sake of bettering and improving both competitors as a result of competition."
CLB Robotics Team Information
Who are we?
We are FIRST FRC teams 3134 The Accelerators and 3275 The Regulators, from Cass Lake-Bena High School located in the small rural town of Cass Lake, Minnesota on the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe Indian reservation. We are the the only school in the world with an all male team (The Regulators) and an all female team (The Accelerators).
What do we do?
We are FIRST Robotics teams. Meaning that we build robots for competitions on the regional and local levels in hopes of advancing to more challenging competitions at the national and world levels.
Over a six week period, we design and build a fully functinal robot that is capable of carring out different tasks depending on the game released that year. We then take our robots to compete in FIRST regional competitions. In 2020 we went to the Lake Superior Regional in Duluth, MN for the FIRST Infinite Recharge Regional Competition. We will be attending the NMRC Championship in the spring of 2021.
We participate in parades to carry out the mission of FIRST to increase recognition of FIRST FRC and inspire others to realize the value in S.T.E.M. Fields. For the season of 2021 we will be participating in the At Home Challenge. Our coaches are also playing a huge part in getting a regional in Bemidji, MN, all well helping our teams.
Why do we do it?
Robotics exposes students to how they'll have to work with strict time limits and resource constraints. Robotics gives students the chance to be mentored by many different people from many different backgrounds and professions; from engineers to corporation owners. Robotics will also train students in team work, it shows them importance of community outreach, teaches valuable S.T.E.M. ideals, and it may give them the opportunity to obtain scholarships.
"Robotics is a place you can go no matter who you are, or what you do and you are accepted like family. Robotics is a place for anyone willing to learn"
